Goldeneye: Is it just a shot in the dark?

Da da da dum da da da da da da dum da da da Daa daaa da da da. That was my interpretation of The Bond theme. Now that that’s done let’s get down to the review, shall we?

Goldeneye 007  is of course The remake of the same game for N64, but with Daniel Craig playing James Bond, and all original characters, except M as we don’t see her, just hear her, appearances altered. Also there’s no annoying Boris, which is a good thing as he annoyed many people in 1997.

But this is just Cod Bond edition. While it may have Bond and classic characters, it just looks and feels like a Cod game. Whether that’s a good thing or a bad ting I don’t know.

It’s good to see a local multiplayer option in this game, as Cod Black Ops lacked that feature, and it  has the nice effect of blood trickling down the screen. But some of the multiplayer maps disappoint, like the facility, which has been changed from its original appearance in the way that you can no longer enter the vents. All in all it’s not that fun.

All in all, it’s an Ok game, just not the throwback people were hoping for. Sparkles, the war hound, was not impressed and did not enjoy it.
